Ethical Travel

There was a time, around sixty, seventy years ago, when travel  took weeks, months, with little or no contact with loved ones.  Today technology allows us to reach our destination in a matter of hours and to be connected 24/7.  However this can distract us from the real meaning of travelling.

The real meaning of travel is to discover the unknown, to learn, to enrich our lives and to fulfill a dream.

It does not matter how well we plan our trip, there are always surprises. We meet people who teach us and inspire us, this creates a ripple effect.

This is why every year, Ethical Traveler an all-volunteer, non-profit organization travels the world to review policies and practices of nations in the developing world that :

Promote human rights
Preserve the environment
Support social welfare
Create a community based on tourism industry.

Ethical Traveler believes that travel offers many rewards, on a personal and global basis and where we  choose to travel has economic and political impact. By reviewing these policies and practices, Ethical Traveler selects the World's 10 Best Ethical Destinations.

The World’s 10 Best Ethical Destinations
  • Cabo Verde
  • Chile
  • Dominica
  • Lithuania
  • Mauritius
  • Palau
