St Paul's and Beyond

It has been a long time since I have visited St Paul’s Cathedral

When I visited it yesterday I rediscovered that it is a magnificent place of worship, being built for the Glory of God.

With its elegant arches and Front Nave under the impressive Dome, St Paul’s, purpose is the worship of God.
I began my visit with climbing the 259 steps of the Whispering Gallery.

The Whispering Gallery is a 100 feet above. It offers a tremendous view of all aspects of the Cathedral. It whispers as the whisper echoes across to the other side.

To reach the Outside Gallery you have to climb, 119 steps yet again. You are rewarded with a wonderful view across London. Here take your time to appreciate London as it is.

Yet again you climb another 152 steps using a narrow spiral staircase. This is the Golden Gallery with extreme view.

With the whispering echoes wafting from below there was the harmony of Choral Evensong. The choir sang David’s Psalms which resonated perfectly, enthralling calm faithful reverence.

I was privileged to have a short conversation with author and traveller Mike Annan. Mike and his wife Judith have spent 10 years travelling in a motorhome throughout Europe, Asia, North Africa, the Middle East and beyond.

Moscow & the Golden Ring and North Africa & the Middle East are two books written by the couple with amazing pictures of their incredible and unique journeys.
